Hello! I did a search and don't think this has been asked before...
I'm looking to start my own home business out of Colorado. I think I need to do things like register a business name and such (if I don't want to only go by my legal name) but I had a quesiton...
In Rich Dad Poor Dad, Robert went off on creating your own Corporation for the various tax benefits. Is that what I'm looking for?
If this is what I should be looking into, then does anybody happen to know the process that needs to be followed to Register a corporation, and begin operating underneath it?
I'm looking for any experience anybody might have with when it's appropriate to register a corporation, the method to do so, and any sort of pitfalls that I may need to look out for.
Thanks!!

Re: Registering a Corporation
Mon, October 16, 2006 - 4:25 PMyeah if you want to do if for property use a LLC to protect your property if you want to use the money i have used a corp, but you know there are some authors that have written books that have books on it. I don't know authors name, but he writes some of the rich dad poor dad series of books but its not by robert, its another dude, he explains in detail the advantages he has lot of material you can buy reguarding C corps, S corps, and LLCs. He has all kinds of materials and that has helped me alot, I think with like 300 bucks you can get everything he offers and sing he will help you sign up with a corp or llc right then and there after a seminar. Just depends what you need depeding where you have gone so far and what you need to protect so far in your realestate investment ventures, let me know i can probably get ahold some info you want. E

Re: Registering a Corporation
Sun, December 3, 2006 - 2:15 PMi'm in the same process myself. i've had nevada corps recommended to me - cheaper, law offer the most protection, and easiest as far as officer nomination. there are lots of services on the web to register you start to finish for $300, then it's like $100/yr after that.

Re: Registering a Corporation
Mon, December 4, 2006 - 3:21 AMBe careful if you have employees there, though.
I have heard that while the other "costs" of doing business in NV are low, they make it up on taxes/fees on employees.
And, as I recall, if a corporation is going to to business in a state, it needs to be registered there. The fees for registration vary from state to state.

Re: Registering a Corporation
Sun, March 4, 2007 - 4:49 PMHI, speaking of websites, and helping people out with them...I was doing some research for a client of mine and I stumbled upon this page. But, I think you all would benefit from some of the info on the site we are redoing. So here you go nevada-business-corporation.com/ .
p.s. I have talked to the owner personally several times about incorporation in Nevada , and they seem very knowledgeable.
